It
may be imagination but the numbers of both these birds seem to have been
increasing over recent years. They feed on insects and are normally associated
with rivers and streams however they do fly some distance away from their
nesting sites in search of food. A number of pairs have decided that there
are plenty of insects in the hills around the Refugio de Juanar. You will
rarely see these birds not in motion. Their flight is fast and characteristic.
They flap their wings rapidly to gain speed then fold them back to streamline
themselves to literally dart through the air.
